Today she took her first steps and had her first taste of ice cream and homemade carrot cake. She loved the birthday treats, as well as eating the wrapping paper from her gifts.
The yellow cake:
We had a "3" candle for John to blow out and a "1" candle for Havilah (ok, John helped) to blow out:
Notice how Havilah can't keep her eyes off the cake?
At first she used the spoon, but quickly switched to fistfuls of cake--and ice cream...
...which necessitated a post birthday party bath.
Today I finished John's birthday quilt! Havilah had fun playing peek-a-boo under it:
Havilah Joy, you truly are a joy in every sense of the word. I can't imagine our family without your smile, your go-go ways, and your adventurous spirit. You are a precious gift from God. Happy birthday, darling daughter!
