The past two weeks have been full: sickness--now health!--which led to ear infections and antibiotics for both kids, a visit from Anna and Ben, our sixth anniversary (on the sixth), fun visits with family and friends here in the Valley, Billy working a lot, and two 3D ultrasounds. And I've failed to blog about any of them, so here are the pictures:
David's placenta is big but still within the normal range, so it doesn't look like it will be a concern. He's big too (as is his mother, ahem)--close to three and a half pounds now, according to the only-semi-accurate ultrasound measurements. His cheeks already look plump--yikes!
a bit of brother wrestling:
Ben was Mr. Popular around here because he played nonstop. He said to me, "I don't know how you do this every day." I told him that I don't usually play chase throughout the whole house, built tents and forts, construct cool train sets and wedgits towers, play dress up, read books, roll the kids up in a quilt like hot dogs, go swimming, and let them beat up on me--all in the same afternoon. (-:
The new development at our house is that Havilah's bed is now in John's room. Tonight is the fifth night and so far it has worked even better than having them in their own rooms. Havilah's room has always doubled as a guest room but now it will be devoted to the grandparents, aunts, and uncles who come to visit after David's arrival.
The unanticipated benefit of having Havilah in the same room as John is that she makes noise as soon as she wakes up rather than playing by herself while she fills her pants and then calling for me. So she has used the potty chair for her morning business the last several days. Yesterday she told Ben "Poo poo, toilet, treat!" She knows the routine--take your job to the toilet and mommy will hunt around the kitchen for a treat. Tonight I had absolutely nothing "treat" to give her so she settled for a frozen blueberry. She didn't seem to notice that it wasn't chocolate--lucky me! I'm not potty training her yet, but if she wants to poop train herself then who am I to complain?
(making lemon poppy seed scones tonight--yum!)

ahahaha, I love you posts! sorry to hear that little David has his auntie Shawna's cheeks (bane of my existence) but he'll survive. Besides, plump cheeks are so cute when they are little, hehe! Ben looks like he had a blast--it's funny that the kids actually managed to wear out his seemingly endless energy, and that he noticed how hard it is to play all day! love you and miss you lots sis. Talk to you soon hopefully!
