we're back

We had a lovely trip to Portland and are now back to our P-town number 3--Peoria. What, you just want to see pictures? Ok...

More pictures to come when I find the cord for my camera. (-:

too cool

We've started spiking John's hair to make it look fuller and SO COOL (say this in the Teen Girl Squad voice--aka Strongbad--for full effect).

A little treat for him is playing with the Mancala game pieces--little, smooth, half-flat marbles of various colors. Yes, I know, you're not supposed to let two-year-olds play with little marbles. I promise you I only take them down when I am going to sit with him to play. And then they all go back in the Ziploc when we're done. I make him patterns and talk about the colors and watch him delight in selecting Just the right one from the bag. So cute.

random

A few pictures from my Picasa files, for your amusement. Havilah on the countertop:

My kitchen:

John in the 26' moving truck driver's seat:

A sibling kiss. I love that Hava seems to be saying, "wait a minute!"

John in his daddy's work socks and his own pajamas and swimming flippers (at the apartment on our last day there):

I picked 2o something oranges off my orange tree tonight. And the tree is still covered in orange. I'm going to check to see if I can bring some in my luggage. If so, I'll bring some sunshine fruit to the Oregon folks.

Hope you're doing well!

short and sweet

yes, this would describe my kids. (-: But it also describes our quick--but very nice--visit with Jason and his mom, Holly, today. They are on their way from Portland to Ft Benning, Georgia. They are taking the southern route to avoid the snow so we were blessed with a visit. Here's the adoring uncle with his nephew and niece.

I don't know if you can see it, but Havilah is wearing her "Perfect in Every Way" shirt from Rebekah (oh, if only Mary Poppins had this shirt).

grandparent pics

Want to meet my Grandpa Dave and Grandma Née?

I liked Grandpa's fuzzy face right away...

But I did my best to keep Grandma Née on her toes...

See Grandma, I really do love you, too. Thanks for coming to visit us!! Love, Hava

we're here

We have moved. Not unpacked, but moved. I'll post pictures as soon as the number of boxes has dropped a bit. We are enjoying our park that is one block away; John loves his new room and backyard; and I am enjoying quiet and efficient appliances (what a boring grown-up thing to enjoy!). We met our first neighbor tonight and they have a baby exactly Havilah's age. I think we'll really like this place....
